“Forgive.”
Of all the words in this collection, this may be the hardest one to write. Not because it is complicated — it is four letters, two syllables, one of the first words we are taught. But because forgiveness is not a single act. It is a practice that has to be chosen again and again, often for the same wound, often for the same person, often for yourself. Writing it thousands of times is not repetition. It is the work itself. The hand learning what the heart has not yet managed. Returning to the word on the days it feels impossible because those are precisely the days it is most necessary.
